Meet Danette

Danette is a combat veteran and long-time resident of the 82nd district. She is running for the Kansas House because she believes we deserve a voice who represents our values and interests, and a representative who is engaged and responsive to our needs.

Danette served the first 15 years of her military career in the Kansas Army National Guard. She was selected to Command the largest and most complex company in the state, with three detachments throughout Kansas and almost 300 Soldiers. She is currently a Captain in the Army Reserves where she serves as an OC/T (Observer-Controller/Trainer), ensuring Army Battalions and Brigades are trained and mission ready for deployment. Danette is a combat veteran, having served two deployments to Iraq. A few of her many awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal (2nd award), the Combat Action Badge, The Army National Guard Commendation Medal, the Army National Guard Achievement Medal and the California Counterdrug Task Force Medal.

Danette has lived in Mulvane for 11 years and has been a resident of the 82nd District for 18 years. She graduated from Wichita State University with a BA in Exercise Science and a Doctor of Physical Therapy.
Danette's military service has provided her many valuable skills, such as teamwork and collaboration, critical observation and problem-solving, and a strong work ethic. This is the leadership we need in Topeka!
